This is an ENTERPRISE/Server class drive made to run 24/7. 3.5", SATA III/6GBps. It's not super quiet. Runs fine in desktops. I use these exclusively for my servers and data storage in my desktops for work stuff. I pulled it out of my Supermicro server when I converted it into a workstation for my in laws. Date of MFG was March of 2013. Still about 4 years of warranty left on the drive.
