At this time we have not picked any specific games for tournaments.  If you have suggestions please let us know.   We are also waiting for 1st of Nov to hit so we can look at the new shooters coming out to see how they might work for possible tournament games.

HoN or LoL, but LoL is for noobs so I vote HoN!  Plus HoN is now F2P so everyone can play!

I know we had 5+ people that only played sc2 all night.  We may need to do SC2 again.  Only problem with sc2 is the gamble on how long the tourney lasts.  It was a pain because the COD tourney started before sc2 ended so we had to pause it.  Without getting into too much detail getting the games going again was a pain.

im down for a shooter game for sure wether it be cod4 or newer and hon would be cool as well bf3 will be out before then so that would also be a blast im sure

Homefront
BF2BC (only if we have a local server for this one bcz I have never been able to play the multiplayer online)
COD4, any mods (Freeze Tag)
COD5
L4D 1 or 2
HON (free to play increases your player number potential)

And possibly any new fps coming up soon...which may include MW3 or BF3 depending LAN/dedicated server support.

Skyrim will be out by then as well, so there will be plenty to do in between tournaments. :-)

May I suggest BO, or even MW2 somehow. There may be more than a few that own the latest COD.  Im down for Cod4 and CSS.

We tend to shy away from fps that are net servers only due to possible lag causing issues.  We are considering putting one like blops.  But mw3 which comes out before the LAN will have local servers so that is high on the list.  And a Cod 4 is as well as others

Ah, I guess DOTA 2 is out of the question. But when it launches -  watch out!

Will there be any console gaming of any sort. Non official of course and more for entertainment. Name a console, and players bring games for late night quiet time competitions or whatever. Street Fighter for example, PS2. Or maybe even Guitar Hero, Xbox. Just a suggestion.

We will not have consoles setup for anyone to use no, but console players are more then welcome to get a seat like a PC player an setup a console in the spot instead of a PC.

Just a heads up to those with experience in the ways of Street Fighter. Ill have have Street Fighter Alpha 3, on a PS2 emulator, and two controllers.

For PC, always down for UT2k4, SC2 or LoL.  Play a lot of Quake Live but LAN play may be out of the question.

Console tournaments not sure on, people more then welcome to do one if they wanna bring and setup consoles, but as staff we do not have consoles we can bring and provide for use for tournaments etc.    We will have plenty of PC tounaments from new games to old games.

Golden eye source is a free mod for Half Life 2.  So if you own Half Life 2, then you can get Golden Eye Source.

Ah, well that is all together different then.  A lot of folks have HL2.

Are these the only tournaments? I think we should have at least SC2 and maybe LoL.. Seems like a lot of people have LoL I know 4 people I am bringing with me all play LoL and SC2

These are the official tournaments yes.   

If you would like to run an un-official tournament of LoL or SC2 let myself or Denied know and we can setup pre-registration for it for you etc.

Okay so I was thinking about the MW3 tournament and the skill level choice's I would assume if everyone picks never played that isn't going to give fair teams in the end....  It is a Call of Duty game like most of the rest it will feel the same as the majority of the others do I would assume.  I feel like people should be basing their skill level on how they perform in other Call of Duty titles.  <333

Good point shocka.  I will asked people to base skill on like Black ops.  I will add that to the tounament info.

I love SC2, and I would be happy to join a unofficial tourney.  I thought about having an SC2 tourney again, but it is just hard to balance teams to be fair.  Last time experts got stuck with noobs and those teams went out in the early rounds. All the teams with intermediate players went to the finals.  I would love to do a SC2 1v1, but it would take a whole day.  32 person 1v1 tourney with 1 hr. games could be a 5 hr+ tourney.

This is why we chose to do a 5v5 HoN tourney.  People that play tower games are either playing LoL or HoN.  I know alot of people at Nexus have HoN experience, and that is why we chose it over LoL.  If you and your friends are good at LoL than you should be able to be competitive in HoN.  You can also run your own unofficial LoL tourney.  Just let us know and we can post a sign-up. 

I would like to play in a COD 1 tourney.  Are you thinking about having it on Sat. or Sun.?

Doesn't matter to me as long as we can get enough interest in it. :D

You can run it right away Saturady if you like, or Saturday in the 6-8 time frame, other times that we dont have a main tournament running would be after midnight raffle, or sunday morning before noon.

Let me know what your thinking.  You can over lap it with other tournaments if you want but cant say how many would sign up is all.

I got you covered on the console front (own all three). Always down for some street fighter!

On console's there will not be console tournaments, but anyone is welcome to buy a seat and bring a console.   There will not be seperate areas for pc and consoles everything is in the same area.

okay, it will be a tight fit since I'm also bringing my PC. but at least there will be plenty to do.

Just remember that you cant have the console and the PC on at the smae time.    Power is designed for 1 system or console per seat.

I have a Tritton headset that requires an plug outlet. Will an outlet be available?

Each person gets 1 outlet that they are to plug a surge strip into.   So you can plug into your strip yes.   You supposed to be only plugging in 1 pc and 1 monitor but I cant think that headphones use that much power to make a difference.

Is the League of Legends tourney completely closed or will there be more seats opening up?

At this time its closed unless someone dropes out.   Its geared for the mid range to experienced player that has lvled up their accounts etc.

I didn't realize that the player count was going to be so low on LoL. I signed myself up but forgot to do so with my son. If there isn't going to be any more teams, give my spot to him, kingcrabmonster. He's a better player. I would have done it myself except that I can't find a button to unregister for a tournament.

I can change it.  With it being an added tournament over an above the original ones and being late night we held it to 20 people 4 teams to keep it from going all night long.

There are several that list never played, I suspect they will not end up playing since this tournament is more geared to the experienced player.

I thought I was going to be getting MW3 for the PC back when I signed up for the tournament, but I've since changed my mind.  Could you remove me from the MW3 tournament?  :)

If 5 more people could be found for another team, could the player count be raised? i know of at least 2 people that would be willing to play, or at least did at LAN OC a few months ago, plus Nacelle's son isn't on the list... Just saying, if this is going to be more for people who've played since it's limited, would it make sence to ask the never played's to make way for people who have played? Just a thought...

With LoL being late night. we you go over 20 you have to jump to 40 players to keep the brackets even and not have any teams get byes etc.    That is the reason for there being 20, 4 teams, totaling 3 matches.   If you go to 30 people after 1st round you end up with 3 teams and someone gets a bye into the finals.

Just a suggestion if there's more requests to enter LoL... Make it so the team that gets the buy is the one that beat the team in the previous round the fastest. So the shortest round time gets it. Unless there is some better metric. Is there a final score at the end, I never pay attention?
