Title: Windy City LAN, The First! -- Chicago, IL -- December 4th-6th, 2015
Post by: meowserkat on October 14, 2015, 04:28:01 AM

Windy City LAN We are planning our first LAN as Windy City LAN on December 4-6th. Doors will be open to the public on December 4th at 12:00pm. We have room for 160 gamers, with room to expand! We have secured a venue at the Holiday Inn - Elk Grove Village!

We are very hopeful that we are starting a new era of LAN gaming in the Chicago area. Chicago has been lacking in the massive LAN space for many years. The Windy City LAN staff have been attending and throwing LAN parties for years. Mostly at home LANs. Some have attended larger LAN parties in other cities and states. But it's Chicago time now.  Our goal is to bring the larger style parties back to Chicago. Please join us as we begin this new journey together!

Gaming Tournaments:
•Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void  --- First Prize $400  1v1
•Counter-Strike: Global Offensive  --- First Prize $750  5v5
•League of Legends  -- First Prize $750 5v5

Our staff members may hold unofficial tournaments throughout the LAN for prizes as well. These will be posted.

Open Play Games:
•Call of Duty: Black OPs III
•Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
•Minecraft - Windy City LAN Server (our very own Minecraft server)
•Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
•Quake 3 Arena / Quake Live
•F.E.A.R. Combat
•Left 4 Dead 2

Other Activities:
•PC MOD Contest
•Raffle Tickets
•Food Drive

You are welcome to bring/suggest any open play servers to the LAN, we will have a special area near the server row for additional servers.

Sign up to the forums! Share your thoughts and ideas! Make requests and we will see what we can do!

I just wanted to follow up on this post..  We had a successful event. With over 130 attendees and staff this event was amazing for it being our first! We did have some power issues with the hotel not having the power they said they did, but they are upgrading it because they want us back! Look for our next event posting soon, we are planning for June, 2016.
