How would everyone feel about an Rock band Tourney? Not just based on score but also stage performance and Crowd Reactions?

Tournament List updated... the 2nd official console tournament is now rock band.

I'm wondering, do we pick the song? also, will there be a mic stand, lights, anything like that? ALSO, what do we do about characters?

is there a set difficulty level?

NO difficulty. The winner will be chosen based on score, Performance and Crowd Reaction. Anyone can play even If you have not before. I know Imma newb at rock band and will be playing.

Yep, you pick your song and can play easy, etc.  It is all based on style and how much the audience likes your performance.  So have fun and make the crowd go crazy.  The one thing you definitely do not want to do though is fail out on the song so make sure your vocalist is in pitch...lol

Which game will be played? if rock band... which one? 1 or 2. And i know GH:WT

I think we are going to let the band choose as I will be bringing all of the band games.

1) Is it rock band or rockband 2?

is it rock band for wii or 360?


 I ask because I know someone who made a standup bass for wii rockband 2

Well considering me and Timecop are almost in our 40's I'd say we are probably 3 of the oldest people in attendance.  :P

Actually, you would be surprised.  There are quite a few of us close to that 40 mark.  Some have already hit it....cough cough.....old farts.....cough cough.

Sorry missed this post.  It will be on the 360.  And I think we might make it band choice on which rock band.  But it really might come down to time frame.  If there is enough time we will allow bands to choose which game as I have and wll bring all.

You are not a newb!  So, I think I sorta got suckered into going bc of this event alone....I'm thinking you, me, John and Justin for the tourney?

Also, if we want to do a DLC song, should we pack along a hard drive?

Yes only one song, unless time permits or there is a hard choice betweem too bands where we may ask them both to perform one more song.

You can use a DLC but yes, you will need to bring it on a memory card if possible.  Is it possible to moved downloaded RB songs to a memory card?

You cant move them to a mem card, would have to let them bring thier HD and swap the HD on the 360 to thiers for that song.

wouldn't it be easier to just bring their xbox 360?   ???

Good point.  We encourage console players to bring their Xbox 360 anyways as there are free play times in which everyone can play on the LAN. 

All depends the HD on a 360 pops off in like 1 second so really easy to move them around.

Never owned a 360, but I"m modding some old xbox 1's ATM. putting in some chips and 500 gig HDD's loaded with goodies :)

However I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have another competition considering how popular the last one was. Hmmm, maybe a Beatles themed rock band competition? See how can do their best Ringo Star imitation???    :D

We are definitely planning on another Rock Band competition for the Oct LAN

I just bought an 360 and GH world tour, I like drum kit with that game, makes it interesting.

Yeah I have to agree, the drum kit for GH World Tour is better than the Rock Band verison.  Though I have not tried the new rock band drum kit yet.

Question you guys want to use my monitor again for the tourney? I am planning on bring my 24in version this time.

We'll have to play it by ear but it would be very nice to have as an option. The setup this time will be different than the last.
