OK, so I'm tired of using this Time Warner Arris router/modem combo and getting a download speed of 17 minutes to DL a 298 mb file @ 50 MBS service.
Wireless is atrocious ...
Im also paying a rental charge for it monthly. I did type rental not reaming.
So, what's out there that I should go with? Modem then a router, combo?
C'mon you IT guys, give me some input.
Thanks, Zebbe

This is the setup that I use for TWC.

Modem: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YUU5628?keywords=sb6141&pebp=1447028383589&perid=MEYVG2FK3BKVV347HX10&qid=1447028382&ref_=sr_1_2&s=pc&sr=1-2

Router: http://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Wireless-Router-Gigabit-WNDR3700/dp/B002HWRJY4/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1447028093&sr=1-1&keywords=Netgear+WNDR3700v4&pebp=1447028093481&perid=1CX6PY1YM93C7KW7ECCV

Both have been great for the past few years.

I pay for the 30/5 package.. and this is the results I usually get:

Here is a Trendnet router - they sponsor the event . http://www.amazon.com/TRENDnet-TEW-824DRU-Wireless-1300Mbps-Compatible/dp/B00WENH55E/ref=dp_ob_title_ce

or there is this one as well - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TCU295S/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00TCU295S&linkCode=as2&tag=t0b32-20&linkId=DUBROKREJ2HH63OC

Both support DD-WRT.

Modems - The one code linked is good.  at least an 8 channel modem or to future proof go with a 16 channel.

Ok, first, thanks for the input. I decided to go with the TRENDnet TEW-828DRU AC3200 DD-WRT Gigabit Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router, and the Surfboard 600.
Bah! its just the wife's money, ... lol
