Sorry if this sounds like an advertisement.

I wanted to share with my fellow LAN partiers what I have been up to for most of this year. In February I quit my job as an electrical engineering technician at an aluminium rolling and recycling mill (really dangerous place to work).

I applied for a "software installer" job I found (but thought was too good to be true) on yahoo. The company is called Hyland Software. We have a wikipedia page.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyland_Software

The company creates and sells software that is used for ECM or enterprise content management. ECM involves the storage, analysis, and retrieval of business data and documents.

So far it has been an incredable place to work. I have been telling most of my friends that it is the google of Cleveland. I found a great youtube video of what the place is like. It is actually a South American (in spanish) news story about the company, but I like it because it shows a great view of our work hard play hard environment.

Hired in April, I am now working as a Solutions Engineer (aka software installer, implementation specialist). The title really is not important to me, but what I do is. At this time I get paid to travel extensively(I am writing this from the west coast), build incredable computer/scanning systems, install the software (called OnBase), and train the end users. I am loving it! My current specialty is hospitals. The work is very challenging and the projects sometimes very difficult. Because I am doing what I love to do (get my geek on with technology) I find it rewarding.

If you are interested in working at this place you can apply at:

If you know me in real life and would like a reference on your app please contact me though the private message system. Refs will increase your odds, but I only give them out to people I talk to/trust.

If want more info about my group, services, checkout:

Happy Hunting!

Sound like a dream job.  I think loving what you do is more important than a title or even compensation.  You deserve it, congrats!!!
