Hi everyone,

We are discussing having a cookout/picnic event between now and our next LAN  - where we would meet at a local park.  This currently is in discussion phase right now to see how many people are interested.  Please use this thread to let us know your thoughts and ideas.  We are thinking of holding this sometime in May if there is enough interest. It will be completely free of charge.

This will of course be a non-gaming event and more of a social event for everyone to get to know each other.  We will still do some gaming but will be a game of football, baseball or other outdoor sport.

We ask that everyone bring food items to share as well as outdoor game equipment, etc and post what they can bring.  For example Crashgirl and I will bring hamburger meat.

Again, this is open for discussion to see if there is enough interest.  Please reply and let us know what you think.

I think it is a great idea.
I especially like the idea of having it at a park.

Ah yes, what's a picnic without the cornhole.   Grin

I just wanted to add that this will be a family event... so please feel free to bring your kids, your wife/husband or girlfriend/boyfriend, etc.

I didn't realize you were from N. Kentucky.  How far over the border are you?  We're about 45 minutes away from Cincy.

Anyone have any parks they suggestion/like in the dayton surrounding area.  Dee Dee and I will check out some of the parks here in Huber.

What we need is a nice park that we can have a little private area but enough room for sports, etc.

I use to hold picnics when I ran a popular multi-user BBS back in the day (before the internet took over) and we had a nice place next to a lake, but for some reason I can not remember which park it was? LOL  But I think it was somewhere in Englewood.
