Quake Live is currently in open beta at http://www.quakelive.com

Quake Live is a browser based Quake3 basically but with player matching, friends, etc like Xbox Live.

It is not why we chose Quake 3 as one of tournaments at the March LAN but kinda neat how the open beta for Quake Live comes out near the event.  Should grab more interest into Quake 3 for LANS again.

In my opinion you should change the quake 3 lan to quake live.. i mean theres 6 of us and we could do 3 duels... or... team deathmatch 3v3 random teams... and if any random people come in we could just simply vote kick them... just an idea though Smiley

If Quake Live had a LAN capability where we can control everything, we would use it.  But as it stands the only option is the original Quake 3. They both basically play identically.

I havnt played Q3 but i just playeed the live beta

how close to Live is Q3?
