This is filed under "What Were They Thinking?"

http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTUxOSwxLCxoZW50aHVzaWFzdA==

You must read the article. Notice that Palit is mentioned as one Nvidia GPU seller who is not following proper channels in the U.S.

What think?

Well thats Nvidia being greedy for you. I really like Geforces but ever since the 9 series things have been somewhat going down hill.
Did you hear when Intel releases Nehalem that it wont support an Nvidia videocard just because Nvidia doesnt want intel to have video integrated on the CPU at all?
Just a rumor I heard flying around.

I definitely would not mind going to ATI as I think they produce much better video quality (video playback) as long as they are on par with Nivida in terms of 3d performance.  So I guess I am saying, I would like to see ATI overtake NVIDIA... would be a good thing.

I know aboslutely nothing about ATI and i am very confused about how their series are set up.  >_> Thats my only complaint about switching over.

Here's a bit of info on AMD/Ati vs. Nvidia

I have been using Ati for a while and to me it comes down to what do you want? If its top performance then expect to pay top price. If you want a graphic card to give you decent visual experience in a game environment then you can go for mid-range and that's where Ati competes well.

I love my ATI HD2900. Sure it's not top of the line, but geez I like it.

I still have my Radeon 9800Pro running on my old rig and it still runs strong.  I've had some over heating problems (when my room used to get up to the mid-80's), but for the most part it's run solid since I bought it back in 2004.

I went with the GeForce 7950 for my next rig, a step right behind the most current DirectX support just because I wasn't convinced that it'd be worth it for the cost in performance...  Still don't, in all honesty.
