Hey guys. I'm trying to build a completely new gaming computer and well, im trying to decide what to get for a graphics card. I've seen many wars between which is better when it comes to these two cards. I am aware that the gtx 280 has 1 GB of memory and the 9800 gx2 has 512mb. my first thought was to get the gtx 280, but when i scanned my computer to see how fast it would run, the 9800 gx2 3dmark score was better than the gtx 280. Some people have said that the gtx 280 outperforms the 9800 gx2 when it comes to high resolutions though. I might even later buy two of one of these cards for SLI. But then again people have said drivers for 9800 gx2 are really bad for SLI.

So I was wondering if you guys could help me decide which one to buy.

Here  is the PC im building

HAF 932 Case
EVGA 780i Motherboard
4 GB RAM
Q6600 @ 3.6 Ghz or more
19 inch monitor.
400 GB or more Hard drive
750 Watt power supply

At this time I have not seen enough to make we willing to go back to ATI.   I recently picked up a 9800 GT 512 OC and love it.   HUGE upgrade over my old 7950 256 GT OC I had.

I have been an Intel / Nvidia guy for a long time so I am sure I am biased on this.  In the past I have tried both makers and I liked Intel / Nvidia the best.  Picked them and I have stayed with them for a long time now with no issues.   Nvidia puts out drivers almost daily in the beta releases and very regular on the offical releases.
