I've been tinkering a little bit with an Arma dedicated server as time permits
I have a server running a Haswell Xeon E3-1230v3 w/ a couple of VM's. Runs at about 6% load so I can definitely scale it up. Only limitation would be my 50Mb time warner connection.
Server is up 100%, only time I ever need to pull it down is when I need to showcase it, which is very, very rare.

Does the server still require you to be logged into an account that has bought the game? We can setup a server at P3 and go from there see how it works etc.

Is your 50BM connection 5MB or 10MB upload?

5M, I thought all of time warner was just 50/5 ?
It's enough for 600KB/s, which is plenty when most game servers only require 5-10KB/s per slot. ARMA 3 hovered around 10-15KB/s per user with NPC's around, but I don't know how much of that was standard web traffic since it just measured over-all bandwidth.

So you could support 40-50ish players? That is not bad, My go to server is 54 cap, and it is a hot zone when full. The current map really only supports 30 or so for wasteland before it just becomes an all constant spawn war.
The current server I frequent is ran by the same chipset but is 200down 100up.

Business class is the same speeds as home just you pay thru the nose for it. I looked into it not long ago and still horrid pricing. 30/5 is 300 a month, 50/5 is 500 a month. I know you get better equipment, service etc but DAMN you can get 30/5 for like 70 a month at a home vs 300 a month at a business and they will not allow you to get the cheaper in a business and not have the high end service etc.
