Well I was thinking Friday 7pm - 1am or Sat 4pm - 12pm.

What time frame are you thinking on Sunday? 12-6pm?

There's also a few other stores in the area that have open board game nights too (Bookery in Fairborn and EpicLoot in Centerville).

Saturday or Friday nights would work better for me. On Sundays, I'm usually gearing up for the work week (laundry, groceries, etc).

I'd be interested.

I have a few very good board games laying around (Powergrid, Puerto Rico, Dominion)

And always up for learning new ones.

If ya got some money to burn, there's other things you could 'upgrade' other than video performance (which I don't think you'll see much of a difference with your setup)

I use a Filco Ninja Majestouch-2 Keyboard, which is kinda expensive but its the best keyboard I've used IMO and is very quite for being a mechanical keyboard. I would rather have this then 10 more frames per second on a game that you probably won't notice.

Then there's the Gear Grip PC Strap and Monitor shield, which helps protect your stuff and makes it a lot easier to carry. Renegade has both of them in his shop.

But ya, I agree with the others here and you aren't going to see much of a difference if you upgrade your motherboard/video card.

Ya, the lanOC tourney showed that predetermined teams just doesn't work in this environment.

It just becomes a game of gym class politics of who can stack their team the most.

If you want a real competitive tournament, make the level requirement 30, which is what I think Lan OC was aiming for.

Unless there is a predetermined ban list somewhere, I think ban's make things too complicated and advanced (Not Nexus Style).

With a level 10 requirement, at least the person will know basic game mechanics and will not be spending time in a tournament match explaining basic game mechanics to a noob.

It doesn't take much time to get to level 10 (about 20 games), and by then they should know the basics + comfortable playing with at least one champion.

I believe you should make the level requirement be 10, anything lower than that, it makes it really not fun for everyone else.

Only problem I see with COD world at war is the limited people who have it and how difficult it would be to get it to them.  There's a lot more ppl who have COD4 / reasonable crack with it for those who don't at that time.

I'd like to try out ut2k crate mod, haven't played it.

I'd also like to see LoL and Flatout 2.

Flatout 2 Demolition Derby tourny would be cool, with the Flatmobile banned.

60  Past LAN Archive / Past LAN Tournament Discussion / Re: NeXus LAN 9 Tournaments selected. on: October 03, 2011, 02:38:18 AM
ya, these tournaments here are just for fun.  that's why i don't agree with a level requirement.  i think it would be better to have a 20 person tournament than a 10 person one due to level restrictions.
