Author Topic: Lunch in Dayton  (Read 15227 times)

I'm coming from Fort Wayne, IN and meeting a friend from Cincinatti before the lan for Lunch, then we're coming to the LAN. I was wondering if anyone has a good sports bar type place that we could go to grab lunch. Trying to not go to a chain such as Applebees or TGIFridays, but that's the kinda food we're looking for (a sit down burger place besides fast food).
Any suggestions of a good local, or chain that we don't have up here in northern Indiana would be good.
Thanks for your help,
David

I'd recommend Frickers, Roosters or Bdubs.  Roosters is not too far from the event, but I recommend using a GPS and set your lunch stop.  There is a Roosters on your way from Cincy too near the Dayton Mall (right off 75).

Are you looking for a place to have wings?  If so, I think Fricker's has the best wings.

Hey, I seen someone posted roosters and I have one by my house in columbus.  It is amazing! Make sure if you go to try their buffalo chicken pizza.  Good times.

We actually used to have a frickers, but it closed down... We also have Uno's, And B-Dubs. Roosters sounds intersting.
Thanks for the ideas.

Rooster is similar to Frickers, with some different food.  Frickers was actually started by two brothers, then one brachned off and started Roosters.

Yeah, i was on their (rooster's) website and thought it looks exactly like frickers. Kinda wierd that two very similiar companies could survive in the same market. The Fricker's we had in town wasn't very good, their food all seemed like it came frozen and some of the odd things on the menu weren't made often enough, so they tasted freezer burnt. Plus they charged extra for Ranch with wings. If i'm paying $8 for 10 wings, you better be throwing in some ranch and celery!  Roll Eyes

Rooster and Fricker's owners are brothers.  I do not know or remember the complete story but several years back they split into their own franchises.

There is a a Hamburger Wagon in Miamsburg that is unique, its more of a eat in your car or pick up food and go somewhere but burgers are good. Voted best burgers in some magazine or Dayton I think. http://www.hamburgerwagon.com/

Here's a map of restaurants close by the LAN.

Spaghettie Warehouse is good if you like Italian, but not sure if you want that if you are planning on Pizza that night.
